Executive Director at the Office of the TAT Governor Visanu Jaroensilp said the tourism authority came up with the campaign to commemorate Her Majesty the Queen’s 84th birthday anniversary.
Five famous Thai designers will be asked to create 55 contemporary Thai outfits from locally produced silk. Fifteen fashion design students from universities across the country will also be recruited to help in the campaign.

These clothes will be showcased at an exhibition at Siam Paragon from August 20 – 21 and at Plenary Shopping Mall from August 23 – 28.
To raise awareness about the Thai silk internationally, Mr. Visanu said the TAT will campaign for nine new tourist destinations that promote silk production in Thailand. Tourists will get to learn about the traditional craft of making silk from local villagers.
