The 2016 FBAT Wine Challenge welcomes all importers and distributors of wine in Thailand to submit their finest selection for this year’s most exciting wine competition. Winning wine from each category will be awarded the prestigious FBAT Wine Challenge Trophy with wine bottle stickers awarded to all wines ranked gold, silver or bronze for use in hotel, restaurant and retail promotions.
The competition and award winners will be promoted to the wine industry, wine buyers and lovers through national and industry press and comprehensive marketing campaigns includes print, email, online and social media. Award winning wines will be available for tasting after the wine challenge and during FHT2016. Promotion of Award Winning Wines onsite at FHT2016 and post-show via FBAT and FHT marketing channels including announcement board, wine tasting schedule board, FBAT booth, press release, email blast, website and social media Promotion of Award Winning Wines with FBAT International Wine Challenge Award Winners 2016 Book after the event and distributed to hotels, restaurants, wine bars, wine suppliers, importers, distributors, agents, press and wine professionals Judged by the Best Chairman of judges Mr. Pairach Intaput – The Best Sommelier of Thailand Award 1996, Thai and International Wine Judge, BIVB Official Burgundy Wine Educator, CIVB Accredited Bordeaux Wine Educator and Commandeur de Gastronomie FranCaise Award More judges to be announced. Please check with Khun Pan for more details Competition Details: This competition is open to all exhibitors and distributors of wine. The wines can be represented either by national group stands or local importers and distributors. Samples of Wine:
1. Three bottles of wine must be submitted for each entry 2. Two bottles for tasting 3. One will be display in the glass showcase at FHT show 4. For wine already in the market sample must reach the organization on or before 15 August 2016. 5. For international exhibitors shipping wine wines can be received latest on Mon 5 September 2016 at FHT but full list of wines entered into the wine challenge must be confirmed latest on 15 August 2016 Wine categories: Champagne Sparkling Wines Chardonnay Sauvignon Blanc Blended Whites / Other Whites Merlot CabernetSauvignon Syrah/Shiraz Blended Reds / Other reds Pinot Noir Rose Sweet Wine Basic requirements for each entry: 1. The participating wines must be available in quantities for release to the market after winning 2. All wines must apply to its origin wine law and have to indicate name of origin, area or country of production, vintage and the brand as recognition of production 3. For variety category, the wine must consist at least 75{1e9df3ff221fec67f2b46c55bd82e9961ae187e1b606f79864c8b507548386d0} of that variety 4. Since the organizer would like wines to fit into the new growing Thailand market.
The competition wines will be divided into two categories for each section; Premium (up to 1,000 Baht) Super Premium (over 1,000 Baht) Except Champagne and Sparkling Wines will be Super Premium Only (over 1,000 baht) and Merlot will be Premium only. Price categories based on retail pricing. 5. Awards will be given to the sampled wines and their same batch of production Tasting Panel The panel will comprise of experts from Thailand’s and the region’s wine, hotel and restaurant industries.
