Third annual event will now take place at Myanmar’sNovotel Yangon Max in December following changesin venue availability
22 September 2016 – The organiser of CommuniCast Myanmar2016 today announced the show will move to a new location andtake place later than planned this year due to changes in theavailability of the main exhibition venue.
CommuniCast Myanmar 2016 will now take place from Tuesday,December 6 to Thursday, December 8, while the associatedMyanmar Satellite Forum, will be held on Wednesday, December 7.
The new venue for the combined event is the Novotel Yangon Max, inthe centre of Myanmar, which will provide the opportunity to stage aprofessional trade show of 90 companies and the Myanmar SatelliteForum in one location.
Rupert Owen, Director for ICT shows at Allworld Exhibitions, said:‘’Since the launch of the CommuniCast Myanmar event in Yangon in2014 we have looked for consistency both in the dates and thevenue. Unfortunately, the Myanmar Event Park’s current licensingarrangements are too uncertain to facilitate the running of aninternational event for the ICT and satellite industries on the planneddates. The late change is regrettable but the circumstances arebeyond our control and those of our partners in Myanmar.”
Last year’s CommuniCast was attended by more than 2,500delegates and visitors. This year, more than 80 exhibitors havealready signed up to take part in CommuniCast 2016, with topicsincluding ICT solutions, mobile and broadband set to be discussed, as well as satellite and broadcasting at the co‐ located MyanmarSatellite Forum.
Since the event was launched in 2014, mobile penetration levels in thecountry have grown from close to 10{1e9df3ff221fec67f2b46c55bd82e9961ae187e1b606f79864c8b507548386d0} to 55{1e9df3ff221fec67f2b46c55bd82e9961ae187e1b606f79864c8b507548386d0} by the middle of 2016.This continues to grow rapidly, with 4G services available in Yangon. In the current market, opportunities are driven by the growing mobileenterprise, satellite & broadband services and broadcastingtechnologies.
Mr Owen added: “With the rapid growth of the ICT industry inMyanmar we are very keen to provide a professional platform forcompanies both to be able to present new solutions and to launchnew services.”
