Today (29 November 2016) was held the National Assembly particular conference at the House of Parliament. The unofficial confirmation has been released that the government will invite His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn to ascend the throne as the 10th King of the Chakri Dynasty, of the Kingdom of Thailand on 1 December 2016, when will be also held the pre 50th-day Grand Royal Funeral Service of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

It is discussed on 1 December 2016 will not be considered as the beginning of the new reign. According to the 1924 Palace Law of Succession, Article 6 is stated “the heir apparent will succeed the throne immediately after the previous king.” 13 October 2016 will be hence still considered officially as the first day of the reign.

For the unofficial title and style: King Vajiralongkorn Bodintorn Thepayavarankun (referred shortly as Vajiralongkorn, under the regnal name as Rama X). His full title will be changed after his formal coronation in the following year.
